Sustainable Floristry Foundation Course
One Week Course
This intensive, one week beginners’ course is packed to the brim with creative floristry. Five days covering all the foundations of floristry using only sustainable methods. Whilst we teach all the floristry fundamentals and techniques, we encourage you, our student to develop your own concepts and style so that you have the freedom to express your individual work.
Our sessions begin with a teacher demonstration where we talk you through the relevant techniques and give you advice as to what flowers work well and why. We aim to inspire and guide you but never expect you to simply copy what we have done. It’s then over to you to choose your flowers and get creative by interpreting the design in your own unique way. This is your chance to play, experiment and be free. The session is then followed by friendly and constructive feedback.
Whilst this course is predominately practical, at the end of each session we encourage you firstly to use the school’s beautifully lit space to style and photograph your work so that you can start building images for your portfolio and secondly to price your work. We will teach you a fool proof formula in order to accurately price your work..

The Flowers –
We will source the best seasonal flowers and foliage and where possible will buy British from our amazing local flower farmers
Floristry Techniques –
As a sustainable flower school, we are completely foam free and strive to minimise our negative impact on the environment at every opportunity. All methods taught on the course will in as a sustainable way as possible.
Support and Aftercare -
We aim to try and answer all your questions on the course and don’t consider any question ‘too stupid’. The more you ask the more we can tell you! If after the course has finished questions arise, we are more than happy to chat about any queries or concerns that you may have. We are here to support you in any way we can. We will add you to our ‘Florum’, a community of kind, supportive students that have attended our courses. The Florum is a great communication tool allowing you to discuss and share ideas, as well as a way of seeking freelance work.
