Wedding Flowers Course

Four Day Course

This four-day Wedding Flowers Course is designed for florists who want to confidently take on weddings from enquiry through to installation, without second guessing, undercharging or feeling overwhelmed.

Weddings are one of the most rewarding areas of floristry, but they also come with pressure. Clients expect clarity, confidence and credibility. Designs need to translate from concept to reality, pricing needs to be accurate and profitable, logistics need to run smoothly, and everything must work on the day. This course gives you the technical knowledge, practical experience and commercial understanding needed to take on weddings with confidence.

Alongside the practical and business training, this course is carefully structured to give you something many florists struggle to achieve early on: a strong, professional wedding portfolio. The final day installation and photoshoot is an integral part of the course and provides you with imagery that you can use immediately to attract and reassure wedding clients.

Over four intensive days, we cover every stage of delivering wedding flowers. From finding and communicating with the right clients, through consultation, costings, stem count and proposals, to bouquet making, table centres, installations, delivery and clear down. You will leave knowing not just how to make wedding flowers, but how to run weddings as part of a sustainable and profitable floristry business.

Professional Portfolio Photography
A defining element of this course is the final day installation and photoshoot, captured by professional photographer Andrea Gilpin. This is not a styled shoot added on as an extra. The photography is fully embedded into the course and reflects real wedding work. Bridal bouquets, table centres and the full floral installation created by the group are all professionally photographed in a wedding venue setting. The imagery is natural, considered and commercially relevant, showing your work exactly as it would appear on a wedding day.

All portfolio images are yours to keep and can be used across your website, social media, proposals and marketing. For many florists, this removes a significant barrier to booking weddings by providing clear, professional imagery that builds trust with clients straight away.

For the April course, the final day installation and photoshoot will take place at The Forge in Bristol, a contemporary venue that provides a strong, modern backdrop for wedding portfolios.

What to expect over the four days
The course blends theory and practical work across four days, focusing on real scenarios rather than styled concepts. You will make bridal bouquets, buttonholes, flower crowns and table centres, working with a generous selection of seasonal flowers. Bouquet work is revisited and refined so that technique becomes instinctive and repeatable rather than stressful.

You will also work as a team to create a large scale, sustainable floral installation at a wedding venue. This hands-on installation experience is designed to mirror real wedding conditions and is photographed professionally as part of the course.

What you will leave with
You will leave with the confidence to take wedding bookings and deliver them calmly and professionally. You will understand how to price weddings properly, manage stem count and protect your margins. Your bouquet making will feel assured and adaptable. You will have genuine installation experience in a wedding venue. Crucially, you will leave with a strong set of professional images that show your work at its best and support you in attracting the right wedding clients.

Who this course is for?
This course is for anyone who wants a clear, practical understanding of how wedding flowers work, from first enquiry through to installation.

It suits those who are new to floristry and want to approach weddings with proper guidance, those already working with flowers who want to feel more confident with pricing, logistics and delivery, and experienced florists who want to refine their wedding work, work more sustainably and update their portfolio with professional imagery.

The course is particularly useful if you want to remove guesswork, understand the full wedding process, and leave with images that allow you to present your work clearly and professionally to clients.

Places are limited to eight to ensure close guidance, generous access to flowers and a high-quality photographic outcome for every student.

Course Details

  • We source high quality seasonal flowers and foliage for the course, prioritising British-grown stems wherever possible and working with trusted local flower farmers. This ensures strong conditioning, better vase life, and a lower environmental footprint.

  • We are a fully foam-free flower school. All techniques taught are based on sustainable mechanics and responsible material use. Methods focus on reducing waste, reusing structures where appropriate, and selecting lower-impact materials without compromising design quality or stability.

  • The April course installation and photoshoot will take place at The Forge in Bristol, a distinctive, light-filled venue that provides a strong professional backdrop for portfolio work.

  • Our professional model will be dressed in an elegant, simple wedding gown, with her look completed by a professional makeup artist.

  • Photography for the installation and styled shoot will be provided by professional wedding photographer Andrea Gilpin. You will also be encouraged to photograph all of your own work throughout the course. Styled areas, props, and backdrops will be set up in the studio so you can capture clean, usable portfolio and social media images.

  • All core questions are addressed during the course, but ongoing support is available as you begin taking on further wedding work. Students are added to our Florum community — a private network of past students used to share knowledge, discuss challenges, and post freelance opportunities. This provides continued peer and tutor support beyond the course.

What the students say…
“Where do I even start?! I had THE BEST time doing the wedding flower course with Saffy & Verity. They’re just such wonderful ladies - both so kind, helpful, and fun. And they’ve put so many thoughtful touches into the course, you can see the absolute love they have for it. I was really worried about investing in this course (or rather investing in myself) initially as it’s a lot of money to put into something and not know what to expect out of it. But I can hands down say it was totally WORTH IT.

Not only did I have a great (and super relaxing!) time with Saffy & Verity and three other lovely ladies, but I gained so much knowledge from the course - from the flowers to the mechanics, to the business, my personal style, and everything in between. And to have the professional photos to start my portfolio at the end is just invaluable. I took the course as I’d been wanting to go into wedding floristry / venue dressing and I wasn’t sure how to go about it, but I was so happy with everything I made and so many questions were answered - it’s given me the confidence to just go for it.

To anyone considering a course at The Bath Flower School, I would 1000% recommend! THANK YOU Saffy & Verity! - Paige Daniel-Locke
